The thermal power plant 'Pljevlja' has been celebrating thirty five years of its successful work and operation. Its excellent generating results have once again confirmed strategic importance of this facility for the stability of the Montenegrin electric power system. Since the year beginning TPP Pljevlja has generated 765,5 GWh, which is 14% more than in 2016.
TPP Pljevlja is a real support to the electric power system, as confirmed once again during this extremely dry year when, due to lack of electricity from hydro sources, it has maintained system stability and operated at full capacity.
This year's overhaul was implemented successfully and on time, and value of such works amounted to cca €3.3 million. In addition to standard overhaulling of the main plants of the thermal power plant the capital overhaul of the turbine plant was also performed this year, i.e. all the rotors of turbo-generation plant were reassembled and assembled. For the first time in 35 years portion of an overhaul was performed independently, i.e. engineers of TPP Pljevlja conducted and supervised course of the works performed on the turbine plant.
Continuous investing in this facility that reached €60 million during the last ten years, has resulted in positive effects in terms of increase in the plant's capacity and operating reliability. Based on these investments, in terms of reliability, capacity usage and technological improvements, such a level has been achieved which ensures that during next 100,000 hours the thermal power plant would have no need for capital investments and complex reconstructions, except in ecological rehabilitation of the first unit planned to take place within next three years. The value of this investment has been planned to amount to cca €40 milliion,in order to harmonize operation with EU directives governing environmental protection.
Following reorganization of the company, the thermal power plant employes 171 workers, with their resposnsible attitude towards the work serving as a guarantee for reliable operation of this facility. It is the workers who make this plant, whose devotion to demanding working obligations deserves full attention of the public, because the electric power system has been stable thanks to them and this facility.
On the occasion of the Day of TPP, the Voluntary Blood Donor's Club of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore has organized the campaign and collected significant quantity of life blood units. The blood was given by employees of TPP Pljevlja.
