The Chairman of EPCG Board of Directors, Mr Milutin Đukanović, met with Serbian member and the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Milorad Dodik, on the sidelines of Trebinje Energy Summit. During cordial and friendly meeting, Đukanović and Dodik reviewed the current situation in the regional energy sector and possibilities of cooperation for the purpose of better valuation of power potentials of Montenegro and Republika Srpska, which is of mutual interest.
Đukanović stated once again that Elektroprivreda Crne Gore is committed to green energy development, i.e. implementation of projects related to renewables, announcing the upcoming construction of HPP “Komarnica”, assembly of Unit 8 in HPP “Perućica” of 54MW, as well as WPP “Gvozd 2”, with the capacity of 50MW and SPP “Briska Gora” with installed capacity of 200 to 250MW. Implementation of these projects, Đukanović said, would double installed capacity of EPCG generation facilities, which currently amounts to 883 MW.
It was jointly asserted that energy sector represents an exceptional opportunity for regional development, while cooperation between complementary systems, such as Montenegrin and Republika Srpska’s, accelerates valuation of huge potentials of Black Sea river basin, Komarnica, Piva and Drina, which would bring numerous benefits to all citizens of the region.
