DEADLINE FOR CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP AT ELECTRICITY METERS REGISTERED TO THE DECEASED HAS BEEN EXTENDED

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore hereby informs users of meters registered to the deceased, especially 5,000 users mentioned in the list published on www.epcg.com and E-government that due to the expressed strong interest the deadline for filing applications has been extended from October 21 to November 1. The published Lists were created because of a lawsuit rejection substantiated on a reason ‘a deceased person’ i.e. competent institutions informed EPCG of certain number of meters still registered on deceased persons which is opposite to legal conditions. That means the charges were brought against the customers with outstanding liabilities for electricity. The number of customers who failed to change the name of the buyer, given their legal obligation and regardless of their regular payment of bills, is much higher.

This obligation is laid down in Article 206 of Energy Law and Article 23 of General conditions for electricity supply: ‘ In case of a natural person’s, i.e. a client’s death, or cessation of a legal entity, legal successors shall, within 90 days, inform the supplier thereof and file an application for name change – an electricity buyer’s name change.

Having in mind a great interest in filling of applications and the current COVID-19 pandemic, the necessary documentation may be sent as scanned, filed in at our front desks, send it to e-mail addresses of regional centres: snabdijevanje.pg@epcg.com (for cities Podgorica, Cetinje, Danilovgrad, Tuzi), snabdijevanje.bar@epcg.com (for Municipalities Ulcinj, Bar, Budva, Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi), snabdijevanje.bp@epcg.com (Kolašin, Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje, Berane, Rožaje, Plav, Petnjica, Andrijevica, Gusinje) and snabdijevanje.nk@epcg.com (Nikšić, Šavnik, Žabljak, Pljevlja). Customers will be notified when to come and sign a newly prepared Contract on electricity supply prepared on grounds of submitted documentation.

Electricity customers are being warned that if they do not file the Application for name change and fail to sign a Contract on supply within a specified deadline Elektroprivreda is going to disconnect their metring points.

A List of mentioned customers was published on an internet page of the Company www.epcg.com, E-government site and at notice-boards of local FU Supply branches in towns where owners of meters are registered. All customers may get further information via a call Centre at number 19100 (outgoing calls toward this number are free of charge for all providers), via e-mail address call.centar@epcg.com (as well the previously mentioned e-mail addresses), official Facebook and Instagram profiles of EPCG and EPCG front desks.
