A round table on the topic "Directions for further development of the electricity system of Montenegro" was held in Podgorica on October 29 of this year, in organization of NGO Eco-team.
As part of the introduction, the Chief Executive Officer of EPCG, Nikola Rovčanin, addressed the listeners. Emphasizing the problems caused to the energy sector by the situation on the stock exchange, Rovčanin spoke about the future projects of our company. On the one hand, it is important to preserve the work of TPP "Pljevlja", until adequate replacement capacities are built, which would satisfy both the energy needs and the social aspect of this story. On the other hand, in line with global trends, EPCG is focused on long-term investment in renewable energy sources and, in this regard, these days the activation of two projects is underway: signing a shareholder agreement for the company "Green Gvozd", in charge of wind farm construction on the Krnovo plateau, which is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2022, and a public tender to citizens to participate in the project "Solari 3000+ and Solari 500+".
In summary, Rovčanin pointed out that, in addition to the readiness of EPCG, state institutions and the professional public to work towards stimulating investment in green energy, it is very important that citizens themselves recognize the importance of such a commitment, and the "Solari" project is the best confirmation of the connection between the activities of the energy company and the citizens, and all with the aim of focusing on the exploitation of renewable energy sources.
