On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Ecological State of Montenegro, the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro has launched the camapign 'Montenegro - More Beautiful and More Healthy', in cooperation with healthcare facilities. This campaign is aimed at greening hospital areas, thus sending the message about the importance of being in a healthy, natural environment and contributing to the increase in social awareness about this segment of public health, particularly in the context of the present COVID‐19 pandemic.
Taking the strategic commitment of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), based on the idea of a neccessary invetsments into renewable energy sources, this company has joined the mentioned campaign by signing the Business Cooperation Agreement with the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro and other relevant healthcare facilities, thus agreeing to pay to the donor account the total of €10.320,00 so as to implement greening of areas in front of healthcare facilities – co-signatory to the Agreement. According to the mentioned regulations, €4.390,00 has been appropriaated for the needs of the Clinical Center of Montenegro, €2.990.00 for the General Hospital of Pljevlja and €2.940 for the General Hospital of Berane.
'We appreciate a lot contribution made by EPCG to the implementation of our campaign on environmental protection. We believe we are well on our way to increase social awareness, i.e. to acknowledge the importance of the quality of the environment in which we live', said Mr Milan Gazivoda, the acting manager of Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro.
'Participation in this campaign is another confirmation that EPCG takes seriously the decision to help the infrastructure development and stimulate the increase in awareness about the importance of ecology for the community, all the more so that this year marks the thirtieth anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration on the Ecological State of Montenegro, and our company, as it is known, has been premanently oriented towards investing into green energy. Having in mind the problem the entire world has beeen faced with – the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided that it is particularly important to express in this way support to our health care system', said Nikola Rovčanin, EPCG's CEO.
The name and logo of EPCG will be published on the website of the Environmental Protection Agency, as part of promoting this campaign, which should stimulate other business entities to contribute to increasing awareness about compliance with environmental standards; healthcare facilities concerned are to install advertising material at the planned sites and present the projects implemented by EPCG associated with renewable energy sources and environmental protection and improvement, through the activities planned to take place while implementing the environmental campaign.
