EPCG will continue calculating 5%, i.e. 10% discount on electricity bills, for its product and services –accepted active energy and charge for the Supplier.
Namely, Elektroprivreda has calculated 5% or 10% discount on the total bill amount, irrespective of the fact that other business entities, those who have not so far participated in the discount, also participate now in distribution of funds collected from customers. In that sense, since August of 2012 when the GOLDEN TEAM has been introduced, EPCG has appropriated more than €20 million for 5% and 10% discount on regular electricity payment. This amount represents pure cost of Elektroprivreda, i.e. it was not included in the regulatory allowed revenue, it was not borne by customers but only by the Company.
Following opening of the market and unbundling of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System Operator (CEDIS), EPCG has continued calculating the discount on services provided by other entities participating in revenue sharing. However, this would jeopardize business operations of our Company in the period to come, as well as operation of the entire electric power system, given that this cost annually amounts to cca. five million on average. Therefore, EPCG will continue calculating discount only on its products and services.
The funds collected by EPCG from customers via electricity bills shall be allocated by items between several energy undertakings:
- Active energy consumed/accepted will be paid to Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, as well as the charge for the Supplier (49% of the bill);
- Electricity transmission and transmission system losses (6%) will be paid to the Montenegrin Power Transmission System (CGES);
- Electricity distribution, distribution system losses as well as the charge for the distributor (43%) will be paid to the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System Operator (CEDIS);
- The fixed remuneration for renewable sources of energy will be paid to the Electricity Market Operator of Montenegro (COTEE), the amount of which has been distributed among individual generators of electricity from renewable sources proportionally to the level of generation (2%).
In case other energy undertakings who reap revenue from collection of electricity consumption have decided to reward loyal customers and to give discount to end customers, EPCG will incorporate them in a bill.
EPCG’s participation in revenue sharing amounts to cca. 50%, which means that absolute amount and currently calculated discount of 5% or 10% will be lower by 50%, as presented on the example of a bill worth €60 aimed at transparency and explanation (10% discount amounted to €5.60, the same discount for services of EPCG only amounts to €2.62).
