€9 MILLION FOR MODERNIZATION OF HPP PIVA AND HPP PERUĆICA

At XVI regular session the Board of Directors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore A.D. Nikšić has adopted the amendment to the 2018 Public Procurement Plan as well as the proposal of the Decision on approval of capital overhaul of the Unit 2 in HPP Piva.

Decisions represent another step in implementation of extremely important projects within the program on reconstruction and modernization of our two large hydro power plants. The funds envisaged amount to near €40 million.

The capital overhaul of the Unit 2 in HPP Piva, totally worth around €2.7 million, has been envisaged by the budget for this year and the year of 2019. The Company’s management, according to the Law on Public Procurement, is going to conclude the contract with the most favourable bidder which will complete works for the needs of HPP Piva, concerning capital overhaul of the Unit 2, after which Unit’s performance will reach projected values and its lifetime will be extended.

Approval of the amendment to the Public Procurement Plan has created precondition for the beginning of revitalization of six generators in HPP Perućica, estimated at €3.56 million, as well as implementation of the procedure on procurement of step-up transformer in our oldest large power plant, estimated at 2.75 €million.

With these investments EPCG will intensify activities included in the five-year investment cycle and the plan is to carry out projects during this period whose total value exceeds €170 million. These investments will ensure high operating readiness, safety and operating reliability of the plant, the Company’s efficiency will be improved and safe supply of customers will be ensured thus increasing functioning of the state’s electric power system.
