Following information about the environmental incident that occurred in the Ćehotina River, EPCG representatives and the management of the thermal power plant immediately visited the site and once again, upon detailed analysis, they identified that the competent entities in TPP Pljevlja performed no activity on valves that control discharge of substances into the Vezišnica River which empties into the Ćehotina River.

We expect exact information from the competent inspection about the reason why the river became muddy and why the fish died as well as information about the case processing. Also, EPCG will bring criminal charges against one or more unknown suspects on the grounds they manipulated the mentioned valve located outside the thermal power plant’s circle.

It is also symptomatic that the incident occurred at the time when the tender for the environmental reconstruction of the thermal power plant was launched, which is why any possible incident, even that similar to this one, has been excluded.

Irrespective of the outcome of the investigation, Elektroprivreda will appropriate certain amount of funds in cooperation with the competent institutions and the sport and fishing company Lipljen, with which we have been intensely cooperating, in order to rehabilitate this environmental incident and to increase and preserve the fish fund of rivers from the Pljevlja region.
