On Friday, November 19 this year, the meeting was arranged in TPP Pljevlja, attended by representatives of this facility - EPCG and Association of Montenegrin Managers (AMM). The meeting was attended by President of AMM (Budimir Rakočević), EPCG CEO and member of the Board of AMM (Nikola Rovčanin), Assistant to the Executive Officer of FU Generation (Veselin Sekulić), Executive Officer of AMM (Anđela Radosavović), Vice President of AMM for Economy and Finance (Vinko Nikić) and Chairman of the Board for Digital Transformation of AMM (Vladan Tabaš).
AMM representatives visited TPP Pljevlja as part of a visit to Pljevlja municipality, with which it signed the co-operation protocol. Speaking of that, EPCG CEO informed his colleagues from AMM about the present condition of the most important plant of our company, emphasizing importance of ecological retrofitting for the power and economic stability of Montenegro as well as benefits that Pljevlja may expect upon completion of the district heating system.
“TPP Pljevlja generates major portion of EPCG income and we put up a hard fight to preserve this plant via ecological retrofitting, as long as replacement capacity and social and economic stability of the town itself are constructed, which, in my opinion, will be much more suitable for life upon completion of the district heating system. This town has enormous resources and I think that all important factors – both the state and the economy – will acknowledge this aspect to work at economic revitalization of Pljevlja“, said Mr Rovčanin.
Therefore, models of assistance to create business ambient in Pljevlja were also discussed during this meeting. Given its commercial potential, the participants agreed that this municipality should be the driver of economic progress in Montenegro. Development opportunities in Pljevlja can be found both in sound exploitation of economic resources as well as in acknowledgment of the ways to utilize geographic position, i.e. proximity of this municipality to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, given that, in the spirit of a regional connection, close business cooperation could be established with border municipalities of these countries.
AMM representatives said that business entities from Pljevlja can count on full support and assistance as regards bundling with relevant factors in the state and the region.
“As usual, AMM has been firmly determined to provide support to all business entities, with an emphasis on the need to raise awareness about decentralisation process - initiation of the economy in those areas that were pushed in the background. The town of Pljevlja has been recognized as the foundation of a power system; therefore, in the period to come, significant progress of economic development can be made in cooperation with relevant entities, both in Podgorica and in the region“, said Mr Raičković.
