TPP Pljevlja has marked thirty six years of a successful operation and business activities, in terms of the beginning of ecological rehabilitation of the first unit, in addition to reclamation of the existing ash and slag landfill. Around €60 million will be invested in these two related projects, the implementation of which will enable continuation of valorisation of the thermal-energy complex in Pljevlja until 2022.
As an introduction into ecological rehabilitation of the first unit, we are the first in the region to have introduced online system of monitoring the position of fire in the boiler, as a precondition to reduce nitrogen oxides in a flue gas to the allowed level. Online monitoring also reduces the amount of damaging particles that go in the air, because in this way combustion is more complete.
In the first half of 2018 TPP Pljevlja generated 620.349,11 megawatt hours of electricity, what is six percentages more than the plan.
During last 36 operating years the Plant performed around 190,000 operating hours. This is the basis enough for this type of equipment and reconstruction to ensure that this unit has all the necessary attention and that it presents in the following decades the major support of the electric-energy system of our country. Continuous investments in this facility, which reached €60 million for the previous ten years, have resulted in positive effects in terms of increasing the Plant's capacity and operating reliability. Based on these investments, through the reliability dimension, usage of capacities and technological improvements, we have reached such level that in the following 100,000 hours of operation of the thermal power plant it has no need for capital investments and complex reconstructions, except for investments into ecological rehabilitation of the first unit, planned to be implemented during the following three years.
More efficient operation of TPP Pljevlja will certainly be impacted by overtake of Pljevlja Coal Mine by EPCG.
Responsible and dedicated relation towards work performed by employees in the Plant guarantees reliable operation of this facility, which represents an important stability link of the electric-energy system.
On the occasion of the Day of TPP, the Club of Voluntary Blood Donors of Elektroprivreda Crne Gore will organize the blood collection campaign. The blood will be given by employees of TPP Pljevlja.
