Elektropriverda Crne Gore put into operation newly constructed 35/10kV transformer station ″Petrovac″ and over € 1.5 million was invested in it.
New transformer station will ensure safer and more quality supply for 4,500 customers in the area from Reževići, through Petrovac, to Buljarica and conditions for development of the network and connection of new customers are being created.
Saša Milovanović, Manager of Region 4 (Bar, Budva, Ulcinj) said that this transformer station corresponds the needs of the increasing number of customers in Petrovac with its surrounding areas where during the past ten years number of customers was doubled from 2162 to 4380. ″Construction of 35/10 kV transformer station ″Petrovac″ reduced load in the existing 35/10 kV transformer station ″Buljarica″ and power of the new transformer station of 2x8 MVA has created preconditions for more quality supply to the existing customers but also for connection of new hotel-restaurant and residential-business facilities″, Milovanović pointed out.

Transformer station ″Petrovac″ was constructed according to the highest technical-technological standards that are aligned with urban and ecological requirements. Consortium with leader ″Intermost″ D.O.O. Podgorica was Contractor and the equipment was purchased from the reputable Company Schneider Electric.
″35 kV switchgear has three feeder cells and two transformer cells, whereas 10 kV installation has 11 feeder cells. Transformer station has been fitted into 35 kV network through double cable line, whereas being connected to 10 kV network via two cable terminals Petrovac I and Prijevorac”, Milovanović says emphasising that the importance of this facility will be particularly prominent in the period of increased consumption during the tourist season.
In the past period, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore has implemented projects related to construction and buy-out of several capital energy facilities that considerably improved electricity supply in Budva. 35/10 kV transformer station ″Bečići″ with 35 kV and 10 kV connection lines was bought out and 35/10 kV transformer station ″Rozino″ was constructed. Fitting of 35/10 kV SS Rozino was completed in cooperation with the Municipality of Budva, the project is valued at €600,000.
″We invested €80,000 in reconstruction of seven 10/0.4 kV transformer stations just before the beginning of the tourist season. We have planned reconstruction of at least four 10/0.4 kV transformer stations by the end of the year, as well as relocation of 35 kV and 10 kV cable lines from the route of the planned Budva – Bečići boulevard, which will be realised with the Municipality”, Mr Milanović concluded.
