Recognizing the social moment in Montenegro caused by the global pandemic Covid -19, EPCG has decided to enable all unemployed citizens, pensioners with incomes below 222 Euro and beneficiaries of social benefits, to pay debts for electricity for a period of 3 and 5 years , without participation, with regular payment of current bill. Consumers from these categories, who are also the owners of electricity meters, during June and July, will not be cut off from electricity supplying, however they will already be given time during these two months to sign a new settlement model.
Thus, users from these categories, whose debts are higher than 500 Euro, and less than 1000 Euro, will be allowed to pay the outstanding debt in 36 monthly instalments, without participation, and users with debt higher than 1000 Euro will be able to pay up to 60 monthly instalments, with mandatory contract renewal at the end of 23 months.
“We want to help the most endangered citizens, to reduce their monthly expenses based on the electricity bills. In this way, over time, they will enter in the period of regular payment, what is in their interest and in the interest of the Company.”, said Nikola Rovčanin, EPCG’s Chief Executive Officer.
I would like to note that on May, June and July Bills, based on the Conclusion of the Government of Montenegro and Decision of EPCG’s Board of Directors, will be applied 40 percent discount for all unemployed with the Employment Agency of Montenegro and pensioners with incomes below 222 Euro, provided that measuring devices are registered in the name of those persons.
By the last Decision of the Board of Directors, with 13 percent discount on active energy and additional 13 percent of discount on network services, citizens who regularly fulfil payment obligations for electricity, will have a total discount on their bills of 12,25 percent and will practically accumulate one bill per year for free.
Until May 31st, citizens can use this opportunity and become members of “the Golden Team”, and in case of need, EPCG will introduce extended working time and work in shifts, so that all those interested can use advantages of benefits provided by Elektroprivreda Crne Gore.
