The first ecological sculpture installed in Montenegro

ELEKTROPRIVREDA CRNE GORE HAS SUPPORTED THE PROJECT IMPLEMENTED BY ALFA CENTRE

‘Ant’, the first eco-sculpture representing selective disposal of plastic and aluminium packaging has been installed near the King Nikola’s Palace in the town park in Nikšić. The sculpture was made in partnership between NGO ‘Alfa Centre’, Montenegrin Electric Enterprise AD Nikšić, municipality of Nikšić, Recycling Centre and others. As explained, the ‘Ant’ will serve as decoration, the place for selective waste disposal; however, it should also serve as a reminder that every citizen should be personally involved in environmental health promotion.

Aleksandar Dedović, executive director in NGO ‘Alfa Centre’, said that the sculpture intends to serve as an educational example, stimulating the thinking about the need to protect the environment and have a clean town. He has reminded that the sculpture was chosen in a competition; out of the five proposals of sculpture appearance, visitors of the relevant Facebook page estimated the one made by Radovan Đurović from Nikšić as the best one.

Eleonora Albijanić, head of EPCG External Communication Department, has pointed out that our company has always been ready to support projects on the environmental protection.

'We will support activities like this in the future as well, since it is very important to educate the youngest citizens on proper waste treatment', Albijanić said.

Construction and installation of the sculpture is part of the project 'My town, my cleaner town' which will be implemented until April.
